On September 3, 2024, Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty, AVSM, took over as the Controller of Personnel Services (CPS). Vice Admiral McCarty joined the Indian Navy on July 1, 1989, and throughout the course of several decades, he has had a stellar career. He attended the esteemed National Defence College (NDC) in New Delhi as well as the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC).
Throughout his career, Vice Admiral McCarty—a specialist in gunnery and missiles—has occupied a number of crucial managerial, operational, and training positions. His positions as Flag Officer Commanding the Western Fleet (FOCWF), Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Staff Requirements) at Naval Headquarters (NHQ), and Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy are just a few of his noteworthy positions.
